St Paul's Lutheran Church, Ernakulam is actively involved in Small Group Ministry for organizing small groups of 3-6 members who can meet weekly for Bible study, sharing and prayer in each group.
Our Methodology
- From small neighbourhood study groups of at least two families or three members who can meet weekly for Bible study and prayer
- The families or member should be living in close vicinity so that no transportation will be needed
- Each group should have a leader and should be provided with study materials like Bible, Small Catechism, Timothy Project Books etc
- Plan one activity in each month and promote it with the support of the members of the group
- Each group must engage in the witnessing activity meant for the month under the of the Pastor
- The Pastor will be meeting the group leaders once a month to encourage and review the work
- The more the number of groups, the more active the church in attending the services, in giving and in witnessing.
- Invite a neighbour or a friend to the group and give him / her a copy of the Bible or New Testament, Small Catechism, the Timothy Project Book etc.
- Gather information about the new comer, his /her family to establish family contacts and praying for them by name
- Let each one in the group participate in reading, sharing experience, praying etc.
- If the group becomes large, more than 10 members or more than five families, form another group.
- The smaller the group, the greater the participation.
- Start a small group with a future leader already in place
